Who can buy from us?
Anybody who works in the University of Miami. You must be working in a lab in the university or on a project being done by the university.


How do I create an account?
To create an account, simply go to the upper right hand corner of the homepage and click where it says Register Account. Then simply fill in the boxes with the email address and password you would like to use to create the account. YOU MUST USE A UM EMAIL WHEN CREATING AN ACCOUNT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT!

How do I access my account information?

All account information can be accessed by clicking your name on the navigation bar (after you have logged in) and accessing your Dashboard. From your account dashboard you can view your recent orders, manage your shipping and billing addresses, and edit your password and account details.

How do I see my order status?

Your order status may be seen by clicking “Dashboard”

Who are the Vendors we buy from?
Many items are stocked and are available immediately. We buy from the companies listed below and will add items to our stock lists as the demand increases or by special request from our customers: Biorad, Thermo-Fisher (Life-Technologies, Invitrogen), New England Biolabs, Promega, Qiagen, Sigma-Aldrich (Roche), Agilent, Custom Oligonucleotides (from Sigma)

 

How do I order products?

  1. To order orders, click on “PRODUCTS” on the navigation bar.
  2. To search for products, you may do any of the following:
    1. You can search for products by vendor by clicking on the vendor you are searching for to the right of the page.
    2. You can search for products by name by putting the name of the product in the search bar.
    3. You can search for products by catalog number (SKU) by putting the number in the search bar.
      1. If searching by catalog number and you do not know if the catalog number uses a dash (-) or not, TRY BOTH OPTIONS (with and without the -)
  3. Once you have found the product you are looking for, simply click on the product. Then select your quantity and click “ADD TO CART”.
  4. After finishing selecting your items, click “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT”
  5. From the “CHECKOUT DETAILS” page, now you input your billing details.
    1. Here you put your PI Name, Department, and Account ID, email address, and phone number.
      1. Account ID is your Worktag number. It can be a grant (GR######), program (PG######), or gift (BG######)
      2. Email address must be a UM email address.

What if I do not find the product I am looking for?

If you cannot find the product you want, simply go to the navigation bar at the top and click “NEW PRODUCT FORM”. Then fill in the product information and click “Send Request”. We will send you an email when the product is added to our catalog so that you can order it. 

 

How will I know when my order has arrived?

You will be notified by email when your order has arrived. The notification email is sent to the email address you provided when you placed the order. 


Does the CoreLab accept returns?
We DO NOT accept returns.

Does the BMB Core charge shipping?

There is no shipping charge for any items that you purchase through us.


How do I order oligos?

To order oligos, go the navigation bar at the top of the page and click “OLIGOS”

• When ordering oligos, please limit the oligo name to 30 characters. Please also note that a scale of 0.025 uM can only be used for oligos that contain fewer than 50 bases.

 

Why has the price of my product changed??

• Please be advised that the prices of some items in our database might be old and need to be updated. We will put the correct price on your invoice, which you can check online. You never pay more than the list price. Most of our items are at a considerable discount from the list price. 


• Frozen items are shipped overnight, and dry items are shipped by ground carrier to arrive in about 3-5 working days. Orders for non-stocked items should be placed before 2:00 p.m. to arrive within 2 days*.
